Texas A&M Update On COVID-19

December 9, 2021, 6:30 p.m. CST

Before we leave campus for the holidays, I want to update you on a few important items related to COVID-19.

With September's federal vaccine mandate facing uncertainty in the courts, the key is for us all to be responsive and adaptable as we await a legal ruling related to public universities and other federal contractors.

We also will continue to keep a close eye on the COVID-19 status in our respective communities to determine what, if any, further safety measures are needed, including possibly requiring testing before returning to campus. It's still too early to make the decision, though, so remember to check your email over the holidays.

Takeaways:

  • Until further notice, we have paused action related to September's federal vaccine mandate.
  • We strongly encourage vaccination and regular testing, both of which are offered for free on campus.
  • Please check these two websites for updates over the holidays:
    • Texas A&M's dedicated COVID-19 website
    • Division of Human Resources and Organizational Effectiveness website for COVID-19 information
  • New information also will be relayed through university email.

We will continue to examine Texas A&M's COVID-19 protocols in the coming weeks and refine them if needed. Thank you in advance for helping to protect Aggieland.

Best wishes for a safe and happy holiday season.
