Free Face Mask Distribution For Employees At Kyle Field Ticket Windows Wed-Fri

February 8, 2021, 4:00 p.m. CST

Dear faculty and staff,

Face masks are working to block COVID-19 virus spread. We are not seeing spread inside classrooms and office spaces in our contact tracing. Spread is instead taking place largely off campus due to group gatherings.

TAMU has secured a large quantity of filtering facepiece respirators (N95s and KN95s) and surgical masks that we are able to distribute to employees free of charge.

Distribution will be on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (Feb. 10-12) from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. each day. You can pick them up at the ticket windows on the West side of Kyle Field with 30-minute parking spaces available in front of the window in Lot 62. These are available on a first come, first served basis until supplies are exhausted.

Instructors and students are required to wear masks while in instructional settings per SAP 34.99.99.M0.03*.

This inventory of masks is made available to employees without negatively impacting surrounding community supplies within healthcare and other frontline industries. We may be able to secure more of these in the future, and if so then we would make a similar announcement.

The masks will provide barrier protection reducing the viral spread from the wearer to the environment at a higher level than a cloth face mask, and may provide some level of respiratory protection.

These will be distributed in boxes of 20 for the filtering facepiece respirators (N95s and KN95s) and boxes of 50 for surgical masks. Your use of these specific masks to comply with SAP 34.99.99.M0.03* is at your discretion and choosing.

Thank you for all that you do to ensure that our working and learning environments remain safe for everyone!
